Advancing the objective of Ceres Community Project Propelling the mission of Ceres Community Project
The Ceres Community Project is dedicated to assisting individuals facing a debilitating health condition, particularly those of limited financial means. We offer the provision of nutritious organic meals, delivered right to their homes, at no cost or at a reduced price. Additionally, we provide vital nutrition education and foster a sense of community support. Extensive research reveals that our approach of promoting healthy meal support yields remarkable results. It serves as an affordable preventative measure that drastically enhances individuals’ overall well-being and significantly reduces healthcare expenses. Moreover, our program effectively combats social isolation and induces long-lasting positive changes in individuals' dietary preferences. Consequently, we envision a future of healthier individuals with fewer instances of illness.
Ceres is dedicated to providing unique and unforgettable meals to the community. Our delectable dishes are meticulously crafted by young individuals aged 14 and above, who graciously volunteer their time and effort in our extensive ¾ acre food production garden and three exceptional commercial kitchen sites located in Marin and Sonoma Counties. At Ceres, we believe in empowering our youth. With the guidance and expertise of our mentors, teenagers are given a remarkable opportunity to acquire culinary proficiency, learn about cultivating a healthy diet, and develop invaluable life skills that will contribute to their academic and professional success. Additionally, we encourage leadership qualities, nurturing our young volunteers to become catalysts for positive change within their communities. Furthermore, our program fosters the profound joy of giving back, instilling a sense of fulfillment in each participant. Our dedicated youth typically dedicate a year of their time to Ceres, with many choosing to continue their involvement for an extended duration. Through their commitment and dedication, we have been able to provide outstanding meals and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.
We have two young individuals who actively participate as voting members in our board of directors, while all of our young members are genuinely involved in the planning and decision-making processes across our organization.
How the Fundraiser Works
Russian River Vineyards has selected three of its top-quality wines to serve as a means of raising funds for the Ceres Project: The 2018 Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc, the 2016 Stony Point Pinot Noir, and the Wedge Family Vineyard Rosé of Petite Sirah. Within the RRV e-commerce platform, each of these wines has been assigned a unique product label, allowing anyone who wishes to support Ceres to purchase these exclusive beverages. The best part is that every penny from the sale of these products will be donated directly to Ceres, ensuring that 100% of the revenue goes towards their mission.
